A Day in the Life # 7

Today was our church’s first Sunday in their new building! I had to start the day off by being a bonehead and not put the address in the GPS so we wouldn’t be late. It made for a difficult start to the morning. Jen and I were ready and willing to lead the kids church today, but we only had one mugwump so we combined the classes and sat in service instead. I love our new kids room though!

Jesus is so amazing! We place so much importance in the things that we do each and every day, but Jesus looks down and counts most of those things for nothing. A life lived with eternal goals in mind is a life well lived. I have learned over the past couple of weeks that it is not going to be easy to keep my eyes on Jesus. With school making me crazy and my writing desiring my attention I have had little time for anything else. Except of course spending time with my lovely wife.

I see God doing so many things in this church and in my families lives. Jen and I have been praying for so many people that when we see something happen in one of their lives we just praise God Almighty! We are praying for the saints in this nation to go out into the harvest. It is past time to tend to the work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember, if you aren’t looked upon in a mocking or despising manner by the people who practice the ways of the world, then you might want to question where your walk with Jesus is. We are here for you my brothers and sisters in Christ! Let us know your prayers and your concerns. Prayer is the weapon with which all battles are won. Learn how to use it effectively and always pray in earnest. Peace be with you my friends and we are with you always!

A wonderful day spent relaxing with my wife!

Taking a break from the crazy week! God is so good to give us time to rejuvenate! This has been such a great weekend for me even though we didn’t do much. We started off the day by waking up around 11 or so. Then we had brunch in bed and watched a movie. We had pancakes and sausage and watched “The Prince and Me”.

When we finally got out of bed we set about the daunting task of cleaning the house. Since it really was a crazy week we had just about trashed every room. The dishes were the biggest chore. However, teamwork does prevail in these matters and keeps either one of us from feeling overwhelmed by the cleaning process. We had the house and both cars cleaned up in a matter of three hours. *Pats himself on the back*. Since we had so much time left in the day we ran and got the mail and went to Autozone to pick up some upholstery cleaner and oil for my pickup. We also went to King Sooper’s to pick up a few things.

Getting back to the house Jen set in to making dinner and I went to my study to write while she did that. Unfortunately my writing was sidetracked with my secret task to find the ultimate blogging software. You know the one. The software that allows me to update 25 blog sites @ the same time and while I am typing searches the web for some interesting video or picture that goes along with what I am talking about. Yeah that’s the one. Unfortunately that was a dead end. However my wonderful wife did happen to make the best chicken and dumplings with cheesey garlic biscuits i have ever eaten! So the night wasn’t a total bust. We crashed on the couch after enjoying a nice dinner and watched “Return to Me” before turning in for the night. Such a wonderful day. God thank you for giving me a wonderful wife to enjoy my days with!

Anne Rice Denounces Christianity

We need to wake up! We are losing ground for the kingdom of God in this nation. As time passes people get more and more wrapped up in their own lives. Christians in this nation are forgetting their first love. Anne Rice, a well known author and self proclaimed Christian, has denounced the Christian church and society. http://huff.to/bI3sLv How many of us are headed down this road? Have we gotten so far away from God that we take deep offense to the imperfections of our fellow Christians? Granted not everyone is perfect, but Jesus Christ is. Jesus, the one who knows all sin, loves everyone! So how does that make you and I look if we only see the surface impurities and refuse to accept and forgive them? Stay close to the Lord and draw on his strength. A perfect church does not exist, and if you found a perfect one and joined it then it wouldn’t be perfect anymore. We are all sinners saved by God’s grace. He has given us free forgiveness and all we had to do was accept it. Shouldn’t we as followers of Christ do the same? When someone offends shouldn’t we offer free forgiveness? I am not saying that we shouldn’t bring it up to our fellow brother or sister and let them know that we were offended. This is good for us to do in a kind and loving manner, but once we do bring it up then accept the apology and forgive them. We cannot work together as brothers and sisters in Christ without being open to correction and being willing to forgive. A rebellious and angry spirit is the wisdom of the devil. Denounce it the moment you recognize it in your life. We are here to encourage and support each other in our walk with Jesus Christ. Lift your neighbor up and encourage them and tell them what they mean to you as a fellow believer! It is the lack of things like this that cause people in the church to feel like outsiders and fall away. We are striving onward my fellow saints! Life moves quickly and the children are loud and it seems as though financial struggles will never end, but God provides! Stay close to Him and study His holy word. Jesus went to a quiet place to pray every morning and every evening, and he knew the words of God by heart! What does this mean for us? Jesus was the symbol of everything we are meant to be. Draw near to Jesus friends, and He will draw near to you. Though the water is rough and rocky and we’re burdened by the waves Jesus Saves!
