A wonderful day spent relaxing with my wife!

Taking a break from the crazy week! God is so good to give us time to rejuvenate! This has been such a great weekend for me even though we didn’t do much. We started off the day by waking up around 11 or so. Then we had brunch in bed and watched a movie. We had pancakes and sausage and watched “The Prince and Me”.

When we finally got out of bed we set about the daunting task of cleaning the house. Since it really was a crazy week we had just about trashed every room. The dishes were the biggest chore. However, teamwork does prevail in these matters and keeps either one of us from feeling overwhelmed by the cleaning process. We had the house and both cars cleaned up in a matter of three hours. *Pats himself on the back*. Since we had so much time left in the day we ran and got the mail and went to Autozone to pick up some upholstery cleaner and oil for my pickup. We also went to King Sooper’s to pick up a few things.

Getting back to the house Jen set in to making dinner and I went to my study to write while she did that. Unfortunately my writing was sidetracked with my secret task to find the ultimate blogging software. You know the one. The software that allows me to update 25 blog sites @ the same time and while I am typing searches the web for some interesting video or picture that goes along with what I am talking about. Yeah that’s the one. Unfortunately that was a dead end. However my wonderful wife did happen to make the best chicken and dumplings with cheesey garlic biscuits i have ever eaten! So the night wasn’t a total bust. We crashed on the couch after enjoying a nice dinner and watched “Return to Me” before turning in for the night. Such a wonderful day. God thank you for giving me a wonderful wife to enjoy my days with!

Anne Rice Denounces Christianity

We need to wake up! We are losing ground for the kingdom of God in this nation. As time passes people get more and more wrapped up in their own lives. Christians in this nation are forgetting their first love. Anne Rice, a well known author and self proclaimed Christian, has denounced the Christian church and society. http://huff.to/bI3sLv How many of us are headed down this road? Have we gotten so far away from God that we take deep offense to the imperfections of our fellow Christians? Granted not everyone is perfect, but Jesus Christ is. Jesus, the one who knows all sin, loves everyone! So how does that make you and I look if we only see the surface impurities and refuse to accept and forgive them? Stay close to the Lord and draw on his strength. A perfect church does not exist, and if you found a perfect one and joined it then it wouldn’t be perfect anymore. We are all sinners saved by God’s grace. He has given us free forgiveness and all we had to do was accept it. Shouldn’t we as followers of Christ do the same? When someone offends shouldn’t we offer free forgiveness? I am not saying that we shouldn’t bring it up to our fellow brother or sister and let them know that we were offended. This is good for us to do in a kind and loving manner, but once we do bring it up then accept the apology and forgive them. We cannot work together as brothers and sisters in Christ without being open to correction and being willing to forgive. A rebellious and angry spirit is the wisdom of the devil. Denounce it the moment you recognize it in your life. We are here to encourage and support each other in our walk with Jesus Christ. Lift your neighbor up and encourage them and tell them what they mean to you as a fellow believer! It is the lack of things like this that cause people in the church to feel like outsiders and fall away. We are striving onward my fellow saints! Life moves quickly and the children are loud and it seems as though financial struggles will never end, but God provides! Stay close to Him and study His holy word. Jesus went to a quiet place to pray every morning and every evening, and he knew the words of God by heart! What does this mean for us? Jesus was the symbol of everything we are meant to be. Draw near to Jesus friends, and He will draw near to you. Though the water is rough and rocky and we’re burdened by the waves Jesus Saves!

God is so amazing! Thank you for coming to read my blog!

Each and every day we go to work or school and deal with kids and clean the house and make dinner and our lives are so busy! But Jesus is waiting on us to draw nearer to him. While on earth Jesus took time every morning and evening to pray to God and earnestly seek him. Jesus was the absolute image of what we are to be as Christians. Some say that his way doesn’t work in this modern age. It does, we just don’t want to accept the consequences of what living that lifestyle will bring. We don’t want to be considered fringe or radical. Jesus was so radical in His time that they hung Him on the cross and let a murderer go free. There are excuses, and then there is truth, and the truth is we lack the faith as Christians today to follow his path. It is our lack of devotion to Him and the prayer closet that allows this failure to come about. Lack of the fear of God and too much fear of what the world has to say. I want to inspire you and me to change this. I want to be radical for God. I want to reach out to the hearts of people and give the Holy Spirit a chance to change their lives. Our lives should not be controlled by pop culture or the media. Lets give our lives completely to Him. God Bless you my fellow saints. I am in prayer for you all.

A Gift Inside A Gift

I have been sitting here in the hospital for 18 hours waiting for my friends baby girl to be born. What an amazing gift from God! He has allowed us to witness this wonderful blessing that he has given my friends today. I start to wonder, looking at this small pink package of joy, about things much different. About a world where everyone knows God and loves Him. I start to think about how nice it would be if this beautiful little baby girl could come into a world where God was honored. A place where Christians knew and helped each other, and were the kind of saints that our Father has called us to be. What if, through everything, we were kind, compassionate, loving, and caring servants that we are supposed to be. Regardless of situation, regardless of circumstance, and regardless of someone else’s actions or attitude. What if we took it upon ourselves to treat others right? Even if no one else does. Follow the laws of the land. Even if no one seems to care if we do. What if we had integrity? What kind of difference would that make in this world? Would that change the way the collective world looks at our Father? Brothers and sisters. What if, for Jesus, we actually started doing the things that we know deep in our hearts we are supposed to do? What if we actually began to disciple to the world like we are called to do? Making a difference for Jesus in this cold dark world. What if, for baby Kayla, we began to set an example for the generations to come? Is it killing you my friend? To think of all the things you aren’t doing. Have you, like me, given some footing back to the darkness in your life. Filling your time with football, facebook, or planning your weekend. Hiking and dinner parties aren’t wicked, at least not until they start taking the place of your time with God. Has your lust for a new phone, car, house or whatever taken the place of God in your thoughts. Do you find yourself thinking of the things you would like to have or things you would like to be different while you are trying to pray? This has been my struggle friends. Has it been yours? Worry not! Jesus is not shaken by the world. Jesus is not surprised at our failures. He is there with open arms for us to repent and return to righteousness. Jesus is not hindered by the image that the world has given Him. He is as holy as he ever was! No amount of trash talking or faith bashing by some radio disk jockey is going to send God running. Our saviour, the only one who spoke creation into existence, is waiting for the day when He will gather us into that eternal kingdom. In those days the Richard Dawkins of this world will pay for their sins. I pray that they come to know Jesus Christ before that day and I make it my personal goal to show them His love. The ones who do not will face eternal separation from God and the eternal fires of Hell. Brothers and sisters don’t let your friends face this! The people you call friends should know God or should at the very least have heard about God from your very own lips! Can you really say you love someone if you haven’t given them the chance to know Christ Jesus? Think on these things my fellow saints. Remember the young ones growing up in this world. Are we teaching them the right way to walk with Jesus? Or are we teaching them that Jesus is fine on Sundays as long as He doesn’t interrupt the football game? Can you say with your whole heart that you have lived for Jesus today?

Life Struggles On

Another late night of homework. PoliSci, Intro to Lit., and ECON. You have to love college. Meanwhile my beautiful wife has gone to bed long ago. I don’t like having to miss my own wife when we live in the same house. It was different before. Before she came here to live with me we had it REAL hard. I was in the Army here on Fort Carson in Colorado. She was patiently awaiting our wedding in Garland, TX. (We were already married, but we decided to still have the big shindig in Texas.) So the first six months of our marriage we spent apart. It was the longest six months of my life. Worse than my final six months in Iraq after mid-tour leave! But, I guess life struggles on and then you get over it and get stronger. God is using each and every circumstance in our lives to teach us something. I’m pretty sure the time in Iraq and the six months away from my wife had something to do with me asking for patience. We’ll see if I ask for that one again! God is so Great and I wish that I were so much better at being a decent servant for Him. I’m not giving up though, and neither should the other saints! His cause is worth fighting whether we feel like it at the moment or not. All of the great Christians in history weren’t at their spiritual peak when they were examining their own lives. They did amazing, memorable things when they were focusing on Christ Jesus. By focusing on Jesus they opened up their lives for Him to examine, and were humble and repentant when convicted of something. This is what we must strive for. Not just a good life. A life lived close to HIM in spite of the circumstances. Struggle onward with me fellow saints. We shall reach that Jerusalem yet!

Day of Rest

What a wonderful day of rest the Lord has given me today! I got to sleep in, relax, and only think about homework a minimal amount today. People have to remember to take it easy every once in a while. In this fast paced world a person can lose their mind quick if they take some time to just be quiet. It’s nice to just get away and listen to the wind blowing through the trees or take a quiet drive out into the mountains. No music, no phone, just you and God. Talk to Him. Tell Him about all the things on your heart. It’s so much better than a shrink because God can actually do something about those things. Life is a struggle sometimes, believe me I know, but it makes things so much better when you make your time with God the priority of the day. Speak to him friends. He wants to hear from you. Read His word. He wants to speak to you. God bless all of my Christian brothers and sisters. I will be praying for the saints of Christ Jesus. If you have prayer requests please don’t hesitate to ask.
